Kim Darby

Kim Darby, Mental Health Therapist

Kim is a mental health therapist working with children, adolescents, and adults in private practice through both in-person and virtual sessions. She provides a warm, collaborative, and resource-oriented approach to therapy, helping clients navigate a range of concerns including anxiety, life transitions, burnout, trauma, and family-related stress. Kim draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, solution-focused techniques, and therapeutic play in her work with clients.

Kim is currently completing her Master of Counselling through City University of Seattle and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Teacher-Librarianship from the University of Alberta. Her internship experience included working with clients across the lifespan in both in-person and virtual formats. She continues to offer therapy under supervision as she completes her registration process.

Kim is currently completing her Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master in Teacher Librarianship from the University of Alberta.

Kim brings over 30 years of experience in education and finance, where she supported individuals in making informed, values-based decisions. As a former teacher, instructional coach, and financial advisor, she collaborated across diverse teams to support learners and families. These experiences have shaped her belief in the importance of trust, clarity, and shared problem-solving – values that now guide her counselling practice.

Kim offers individual counselling under the direct supervision of David Buhr, which includes regular case consultations and occasional observation for training purposes. Kim is available to work with individuals that do not have insurance and may require a reduced rate.
