Standard counselling rates
Each standard appointment block includes 50 minutes of counselling and 10 minutes for clinical charting. Longer couple and family sessions are available. Contact intake for current rates and availability.
Payment information
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept:
- Visa and Mastercard (a 2.75% processing fee applies to credit-card payments)
- e-Transfer to intakes@revservices.ca
- Cheque or cash
- Direct billing with select insurance providers, when your plan and clinician are eligible
You will receive a detailed receipt after each session for insurance or tax purposes. Eligible counselling services may also qualify as a medical expense on your personal income-tax return.
Insurance coverage and direct billing
Every insurance plan is different. Before your first appointment, check directly with your insurance company to confirm:
- Whether your plan covers your clinician’s professional designation
- Your annual limit, reimbursement percentage and any referral requirements
- Whether direct billing is permitted under your specific plan
When a plan permits direct billing, we can often submit eligible claims on your behalf. Otherwise, you can submit your receipt for reimbursement. Direct billing may be available through Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP, Canada Life, GreenShield, Medavie Blue Cross, Sun Life, Veterans Affairs, First Nations and Inuit Health Benefits, Workers’ Compensation Board and other providers.
We may also be able to arrange third-party billing for motor-vehicle accident (MVA) insurance claims, payments administered through lawyers, disability services, or other approved third-party arrangements. Please contact intake in advance so we can confirm the required authorization and billing details.
The ability to direct bill does not guarantee that a service will be covered. Coverage depends on your plan, the service provided and the clinician’s professional designation. You are responsible for paying any fees or remaining balance not covered by your insurance plan.
Sliding scale and reduced-rate options
We understand that cost can be a barrier to counselling. A limited number of sliding-scale or reduced-rate sessions may be available based on financial need and therapist availability.
In some cases, supervised providers may be able to offer services at a lower rate while maintaining professional standards of confidentiality and clinical oversight. Contact intake to discuss the options currently available.
Cancellation and missed appointments
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at the full session rate. Most insurance plans do not cover missed appointments.
Corporate and specialty services
Corporate consultations and workshops, consultations for contracted Child and Family Services agencies, mediation, conflict resolution and other specialty services are priced according to scope and time requirements. Contact our office for details.
